Squirrel Removal in South Jersey: Quick Answers

The questions we get asked most about squirrel removal.

How do I know it is squirrels and not something bigger?

Timing is the giveaway. Squirrels are active through the day, so you hear scratching, running and gnawing in daylight. Raccoons move after dark. We confirm the species on the free inspection rather than guessing from the noise alone. That matters, because the fix for each animal is different.

Do squirrels really cause a fire risk?

Yes. Squirrels gnaw constantly, and they chew electrical wiring and cable insulation in attics and wall cavities. Damaged wiring is a genuine fire hazard, which is why we treat chewed wiring as something to fix now rather than later, not a note for next year.

Will they come back after you remove them?

Not through the same opening, if it is sealed properly. Squirrels reuse the same entry points year after year, so we close roofline gaps with metal rather than patching them with wood or caulk. Our exclusion work carries a one-year warranty.

Can you fix this without cutting into my soffit?

In most cases yes. The usual entry point is an existing gap at the roofline, fascia or vent where something has lifted or rotted. When structural repair is needed we tell you before we start, with the price, so nothing is a surprise.
